Leena Joshi is a multidisciplinary artist whose work bridges the sensuousness of earth with the urgency of preservation. A self-taught painter, she creates arresting visual landscapes that echo the rhythms of the wild—rooted in ecological memory, grief, and hope. Her canvases often blur the line between abstract and organic, invoking the quiet resistance of forests, the haunting resilience of coral reefs, and the whispered mythology of birdsong.
Leena’s practice extends beyond the studio into the field. As a conservation photographer, she documents vanishing ecosystems and frontline defenders of nature, capturing moments of both staggering beauty and quiet defiance. Her lens centers on endangered biodiversity, regenerative farming, and climate justice movements—testimonies of life persisting and resisting in an increasingly extractive world.
Parallel to her visual work, Leena is a published poet whose writing pulses with elemental imagery and emotional depth. Her poems live where art meets advocacy: in the heartbreak of disappearing species, the memory of rivers, and the sacred act of healing. Her storytelling weaves together land, language, and liberation.
Beyond her artistic practice, Leena is the founder and Executive Director of Climate Conservancy, a global nonprofit working across 60+ countries to mobilize youth-led climate action. She is also Chair and CEO of EcoVita, advancing equitable green innovation, and serves as a research advisor to institutions like Imperial College London. Her writing and leadership have shaped major international reports including the UNFCCC Youth Stocktake, anchoring her creative voice in deep systems thinking and impact.
