About me

Born in 1955 in Stockholm, Sweden, Eva Fidjeland spent her childhood in various countries including Portugal, Lebanon, Afghanistan, and Iran. These diverse cultural experiences profoundly influenced her artistic perspective. She later lived in the artists' village of Ein Hod, Israel, in 1978, where she studied stained glass under Professor Joseph Chaaltiel.

Career and Notable Contributions Upon returning to Sweden, Fidjeland contributed to cultural heritage by reconstructing glass details for the 17th-century Vasa Ship, work commissioned by the Vasa Museum (inaugurated in its new location in 1990). She has exhibited widely in museums and galleries in Sweden and internationally, including a sculpture exhibition at Galerie Stexwig in Schleswig-Holstein featuring her glass works.

Fidjeland works in stained glass, photography, digital art, mixed media, and poetry. Her style is described as using natural, earthly tones while committing to authenticity in representing nature, animals, and human processes. Critics note her ability to challenge perceptions, particularly around healing as an organic, interconnected part of the human condition rather than a dichotomous East-West concept.

Eva Fidjeland is a member of the Swedish Artists' National Organization and has been recognized for pioneering new trends in visual art through digital integration and collaborative approaches.
