Aldona Kmieć is a Polish-born photographic artist working in Ballarat and Melbourne. Drawing on her childhood spent on a farm in communist era Poland, Aldona’s photography explores memory, identity and migrant narratives, primarily within the Polish diaspora and asylum seeker community.
Working mainly in photography, she often combines photographs with other elements such as sound, the written word and constructed physical objects, Aldona also creates site-specific installations and immersive art murals.
Aldona has exhibited extensively; her photographs have been featured on The Block Show 2019, The Design Files Australia and Better Homes & Gardens TV show. With over 15 years of professional experience in the photographic & digital industry, she is looking forward to connecting with her audience.
