Wendy Peters

Wendy Peters is a self-taught mixed media artist who works from a beautiful home studio located in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast Hinterland region. 

Originally from the UK, Wendy moved to Australia in 2004.  She has spent her life in the creative industries, from fashion and interior design, to restoring historic houses to building country homes.  Her acute eye for detail led her to the delicate area of cosmetic tattooing and it was here she honed her skills with fine brushstrokes, colour matching and the dedication to making every work perfect.

Wendy is inspired by her love of nature and country gardens, and she takes time each day to immerse herself.  Not only to stop and smell the flowers, but to store each intricate detail for reinterpretation later. 

Over the centuries, artists have presented the magic and symbolism of flowers in ways that seem larger than life, and Wendy’s lustrous floral works build on this beautiful tradition.  The detail in each of her works is exquisitely executed in rich oils and a deep, but gentle palette.  Against a background that captures the gift of perfect light, Wendy depicts the significance, symbolism and beauty of nature with a contemporary freshness.

Wendy lives with her husband Martin, and their beautiful old labradoodle Milo.
