Based in Melbourne, Australia Veena Merchant is a visual artist working with a range of mediums and techniques. Her works combine abstract, geometric and natural forms to create richly coloured compositions.

As an abstract artist, I often begin my work without a preconceived idea, but with just a feeling and a mood – feelings that often precipitate into colours. While initially the work is process oriented, soon spontaneity takes over with the discovery of images and shapes that touch the hidden corners of my mind, evoking memories.
