SHOGO, Olalekan Uthman draws inspiration for his works of visual art not far from his home the current culture, tradition, history, and way of life of Africa. Every dot in an image is important to him, so he pays close attention to every one of them.
He draws every line meticulously interpreting African art and culture. More significantly, he uses oil and acrylic paints to obstruct the simplicity of the white canvas with distorted shapes and lines. He uses a mix of traditional and digital method to bring about compelling images.
He is featured in many presses, magazine and blogs such as; The Sun, The Guardian, Leadership, Thisdaylive, MadekeArt, UK, The Blotted, Art Express, Kenya , and The Herald. He is recently featured as artist of the month in an African art blog. Some of his recent exhibitions include; Madeke Modern Exhibition, UK, The Holy art Gallery, UK , Andakulova Gallery, Dubai and his forthcoming exhibitions later this year in 2 different European countries
Apart from being an artist, he's also a writer and currently published a poetry collection titled "Finding Myself" by Black Towers Publishers.
He holds a Bachelor of science (Education) in Human Kinetics and also Master of Science (Education) in Administration and Management of Human Kinetics and Sports
