About me

Dr. Jasmine is a contemporary miniature artist. Her keen interest in the magical world of traditional painting of Kangra and Basohli inspired her to do her Masters Specialization in Miniature Painting, followed by Ph.D in the same genre.  She loves experimenting with the contemporary subjects and tries juxtaposing elements of the past with the present trying to give a new dimension to the art of miniature painting both in terms of theme and material.

Her works have been selected and displayed in International shows in Spain, U.S. and Thailand and  many National level exhibitions like GAAF(Goa-2020), National Exhibition of Art (Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi-2018),Annual Art Exhibition (BAS,Mumbai-2018), Annual All India Art Exhibition(AIFACS, New Delhi- 2012) to name a few. She has to her credits some prominent National and State level awards like Painting Excellence Award (WADe Asia, Delhi -2018), 75th All India Exhibition of Arts (The Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar-2009), State Level Annual Art Exhibition (Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi , Chandigarh-2009), Chancellor Medal For Excellence (Punjabi University, Patiala-2007)” to name a few.  Her works are in collection of institutes like IIAS Shimla,  Income tax office Chandigarh to name a few , and in collection of some eminent art historians of India and in personal collections in India and abroad. Her works and art experiences have been featured in magazines like Surfaces reporter, Urban Melange, Simply Punjabi and a number of newspapers articles. Apart from being an artist she is passionate about teaching. In her teaching career of 13 years she has taught in prestigious institutes like MCM DAV Chandigarh, Punjabi University Patiala and is now working as Assistant Professor at IDPT-SCET, Sarvajanik University, Surat-Gujarat(Ind).
